It was at around 5:10 when Mr. Hein Post Uiterweer and his wife accompanied by Mr Gert Jan and his wife Nynke surprised us during training at Mago youth Polytechnic. He was carrying a bag having training materials.
In the bag were training boots, uniforms, foot balls and football pump as you will see in the pictures below.
After talking to Mr. Hein, he said that these donations were from two clubs in the Netherlands.
The
football clubs are ZEEROBBEN and ROBUR from HARLINGEN city
This was a great celebration of the whole team.
just before they arrived in the picture below is soccer girls training without boots and uniforms.
This is what really touched all the players, you know now its very hot in
Kenya and also very rough because the grass is drying up, training bare foot is
really dangerous to the foot. with the training boots its going to be very
comfortable which will enhance the players technique and morale.
After the training we all assembled to receive these donations, and
celebrate them all together.
below are pictures taken on Sunday the 2nd of March 2014.
On the left is Mr Hein addressing the team, and on the right is Eric Opening the bag and Mrs. Hein giving some cookies to the players.
on the
left is Eric who is the trainer of the team still opening the bag and handing
the uniforms to the players and on the right is our Goalkeeper Edith pausing in
her jersey, she is very happy.
Above on the right is Mr. Hein giving instructions on how to use the new football pump and on the right is Soccer girls Mago waving to the football clubs in the Netherlands who donated these uniforms
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
VOTE OF THANKS
We want to warmly thank the parents of Nynke and Gert Jan for having such a kind
heart and making this possible for us as a team, and so much thank Mr. Gert Jan
and His wife Nynke for being on the ground, giving morale to the team and even
supporting us so much whenever we need help.
Today our Most thanks goes to the Foot ball clubs in the Netherlands
"ZEEROBBEN" and "ROBUR" who have greatly supported us with
the training materials, most of the times we have borrowed uniforms whenever we
are playing and even played bare foot, many of our players getting injuries and
etc, but today seeing us in that uniform and playing boots is a very big boost
to the club. We are a growing club which has already made a lot of impact in
the community and the whole county, we know that with the support of you guys
many will change. This club has not only helped the talents of the girls grow,
but it has also built in them confidence to face most of the challenges in
life. A chance to participate in community sports especially foot ball which
was viewed as a mens' sport, their physical fitness has been built up thus
getting rid of so many illness, and its really fun, they really enjoy the sport
and interact with others in the whole Kenyan society.
we all believe that if we have people standing with us both materially and
financially as soccer girls, we will be able to reach out to our dreams,
currently in the sub-county, our team qualified to play in the Football Kenya
Federation League which will be commencing end of this month, we know it is
more expensive than the tournaments we have been playing, but we believe we
will get there. we are busy with training every weekend and some weekdays
preparing for the League.
